What kind of waste must be disposed of separately?

"Do not throw"-sign

The following waste types cannot be mixed with other waste, they must be disposed of in a separate iSEKK:

Electronic waste

Hazardous waste such as treated wood (impregnated)

Garden waste

Gypsum

Insulation

Mass and plaster

Phthalates, roofing felt, asbestos *

Bathroom panels with pentachlorophenol *

Insulation with CFCs/HFCs/PUR/XPS *

Tires *

Below is a list of what you are NOT allowed to dispose of in an iSEKK or container

Use only transparent bags

It is no longer allowed to deliver waste in black or coloured trashbags. If trashbags are to be thrown in iSEKK bags or containers, they need to be transparent.

Hazardous waste

Examples of hazardous waste include: paint, solvents, used oil, batteries, spray cans, glue, cleaning agents, insulated glass windows produced after 1965, and liquid waste.

Wet waste

Food waste

Infectious waste

Syringe tips and needles, blood bags and laboratory waste, used bandages etc.

Explosives

Ammunition, dynamite, explosive caps, pressure vessels and fireworks

Radioactive waste

Radioactive substances marked with a radioactive symbol

Refrigerants

All types of refrigerators and freezers

Fire extinguishers

Stored-pressured fire extinguishers and cartridge-operated fire extinguishers

Cables

Cables that are not attached to electrical appliances must be sorted in a separate bag, and is not to be thrown away with other electronical waste.

Batteries

Batteries are extremely flammable and have to be sorted in a separate container. Bigger batteries in electronics like laptops, electric scooter etc. should be sorted in a separate bag with only electronic waste. Please call us if you have any questions regarding batteries.

Hazardous heavy materials

Concrete / masonry / stone that is assumed to be surface-treated with paint, plaster or other before 1970, must be assumed to contain environmental toxins such as PCBs, zinc, lead and oil emulsions. Demolition materials containing these substances must be treated as Hazardous Waste, and must be declared and delivered to an approved reception.

Asphalt

For disposing of asphalt we can offer containers as this waste-type needs to be taken to a specialized disposal site. Please contact us before throwing asphalt and we will find the best solution for you.
